What Services Does ADAM Offer? COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL GROUP PROGRAM ADAM offers cognitive behavioural groups with a self-help focus. There are two separate groups: one for Panic Disorder/Generalized Anxiety Disorder (10 to 12 weeks) and the second group for Social Anxiety Disorder (10 to 12 weeks). The evening sessions are held weekly at # 4 Fort Street. Please call the ADAM office for more details. The course helps sufferers understand anxiety and develop coping skills to overcome its debilitating effects. Classes are led by course graduates who are able to share first-hand experience in conquering anxiety. HOW DO YOU ACCESS THE CBT GROUPS? Many group members are self-referred. When you contact our office we will send you information and a questionnaire and arrange an intake interview. ONGOING SUPPORT GROUPS ADAM provides follow-up support groups for graduates of ADAM programs and includes those who have had CBT treatment in other facilities. These groups are less structured and are held at # 4 Fort Street.Please call for times.
INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICE ADAM provides information on anxiety disorders, self-help programs and referrals to alternative resources. EDUCATION AND PUBLIC AWARENESS The Public Education Coordinator offers information sessions to service providers, community agencies, schools and the general public. There is no fee for this service.
